This is the first year that 5th year students from 2 Dublin schools, Colaiste Eoin and Scoil Chiaran are taking this course. The ISSSC AGM takes place on Friday October 4th 2013 in Dublin at 11.00am in Cassidy’s Hotel, Parnell Sq. Tea & coffee will be served form 10.30am. All sports representatives from each school are requested to attend.
Scoil Chormaic, Cashel hosted a fun filled sports activity day for the less active pupils and many pupils with autism in late September. Novelty events with mixed teams from all the neighbouring schools participating. Tipperary All Star Hurler Eoin Kelly presented the trophies on the day.
Scoil Bernadette, Cork host this wonderful participation based day of sports related fun activities. This event was the brainchild of Ms. Niamh Walshe and is an attempt to encourage girls to become more active in school.
St. Mary’s School Rochestown host the annual track and field athletics meeting in May 2013. All Munster Schools attend. Events include 80m, 100 m, 200m running races, shot putt, long jump, relay races and novelty events. This event takes place on the track at Cork Institute of Technology campus.
Scoil Bernadette, Cork host the annual Munster Swimming Gala at the Mayfield Sports Complex in March 2013. All Munster schools attend with the emphasis focusing on participation and encouraging swimmers of all levels of ability. Relay races and lane swims for better swimmers.
St. Joseph’s and St. Ita’s school, Tralee host the annual A and B girl’s basketball blitz in late October with the winners qualifying for the All Ireland tournament in March of 2013. All Munster schools send representatives at both A and B levels.
Following the difficulties schools were encountering in completing the home and away league fixtures a new initiative was launched with the Munster Outdoor Soccer in 2012. The old league format has now been replaced with two, one day soccer blitzes which are held on the new 3G Astro Turf pitches in the University of Limerick. …
Munster Indoor Soccer 5 a side takes place in Mary Immaculate Gymnasium in Limerick in early December. There are two tournaments to cater for different levels of ability.
