Athletics –

The annual athletics & fun sports day took place on May 14th in Cork Institute of Technology and was yet again a great success. This is due to the fantastic organisation by Jim Ryng and his staff in St. Mary’s Rochestown. A range of fun novelty games were available to cater for all abilities and great fun was had by all.
There were also plenty of track and field events including sprints, relays, shot putt, long jump and the all important staff novelty race !

Basketball –

The Munster basketball tournament for boys and girls was held in Tralee and hosted by St. Itas & St. Josephs Tralee. It was, yet again, a great success.

U15 Basketball –

Scoil Eanna also hosted their first U15 basketball event which was a huge success and it was held in Neptune stadium in Cork city. A huge thank you to Fiona and her staff in what was a great event and a fantastic introduction to basketball for the children.

Munster Soccer

Indoor –
The Munster Indoor soccer event as always was organised by Joe McCarthy in Mary Immaculate College. This again was a huge success with two tournaments taking place to cater for mixed abilities. Limerick were victorious in the Munster event. The four semi finalists advanced to the All Ireland series and Our lady of Fatima Wexford the eventual All Ireland winners.

Outdoor –
The outdoor soccer tournament (U18 ) was held on two separate dates in the University of Limerick 3G astro turf facility – one before Christmas and the second date in February. After the points were tallied up Catherine McCauley and Scoil Bernadette advanced to the Munster A Final and St. Johns Dungarvan and St. Marys Rochestown advanced to the B final. The Munster finals were played in early May in Turners cross – home of Cork City FC. A huge thank you to Joe McCarthy for organising the event. Catherine McCauley was victorious in the A Final and St. Johns Dungarvan were winners of the B final. Both teams advanced to the All Ireland finals as a result.

U 15 Indoor Soccer
This event was hosted by Scoil Bernadette under the stewardship of Niamh Walsh and the rest of her staff. The tournament was divided into two sections with mixed ability and a fantastic day was had by all in Little Island, Cork.

Munster FFA Interprovincial Champions 2014 –
The Munster Outdoor Soccer blitz was also the trial for the Munster FFA squad. The squad was picked then as a result and the lads were put through their paces in two training sessions.
The Interprovincial tournament was held on February 11th in Tullamore and Munster ran out winners defeating Dublin in the final.

Futsal Training sessions –

Futsal training sessions also took place around various Munster schools.

Cashel Fun Sports Day –

Active sports day was held in Cashel in October. What a fantastic event this has turned out to be with the focus on inclusion and fun for all the children that would normally not be involved with school teams. A range of fun activities and events were orgainsed by the Scoil Chormaic staff. This is a fantastic day enjoyed by both pupils and staff.

Swimming Gala – Cork

The annual swimming gala hosted by Scoil Bernadette took place at the Mayfield swimming complex took place in March. There were plenty of races for all ages with adapted races for kids with different swimming abilities.

Girls Fun Gymboree – Cork

The girls fun gymboree was a fantastic event with the weather holding up to add to the fun for our female sporting stars. Well done to Niamh and her staff and pupils at Scoil Bernadette for the organisation of this wonderful event for our girls and one they look forward to every year.
