Following the difficulties schools were encountering in completing the home and away league fixtures a new initiative was launched with the Munster Outdoor Soccer in 2012. The old league format has now been replaced with two, one day soccer blitzes which are held on the new 3G Astro Turf pitches in the University of Limerick. The top 4 teams at the end of day 2 will qualify for the Munster Soccer Finals which will be held in Turner’s Cross, Cork City in early May. The Munster winners will play the regional winners in the All Ireland Series at dates and venues to be agreed between the participating schools. These finals usually take place in late May. These events are overseen by Joe Mc Carthy, Catherien Mc Auley School, Limerick.
Further Indoor and Outdoor Soccer blitzes are organised at U.15 and U.13 in Scoil Bernadette, Cork, St. John’s Dungarvan, Catherine Mc Auley School, Limerick, St. Anne’s School, Ennis.
