Senior Boys All Ireland Indoor Soccer 2014
This year’s All Ireland Indoor Soccer Blitz took place in Mary I College’s Sports hall on Tuesday 14th January. There were 9 teams from all over Ireland. The teams were divided into two separate blitzes.
In the A blitz all 5 schools played each other once before St. Augustines, Cashel, Scoil Bernadette and Wexford made it to the semi-finals. After 2 great matches Scoil Bernadette and Wexford made it to the final where Our Lady of Fatima School Wexford won out after a great match.
In the B blitz Limerick, st. Michaels’ from Dublin, St. Laserian’s from Carlow and Ennis all qualified for the knockout stages with Limerick and Ennis winning their respective semi-finals. Limerick maintained their earlier form and won the final after a great days soccer from all the schools in the blitz.
Ms. Barbara Bermingham from the FAI was on hand to present the beautiful ‘Golden Boot’style trophies to the finalists.
Well done to all the schools that participated and a special thanks to the staff of Mary Immaculate Gym and also the staff of Catherine Mc Auley School for helping make this a great blitz.
